The course stems from the partnership with NOS Design, an architectural firm composed of a Team of young professionals with international experience and an accurate knowledge of the Italian landscape. The course offers an overview of the effective running of an architectural firm: it is no longer conceivable to base the profession only on design technique, but it is essential to accompany it with the careful entrepreneurial management of the business.

PROGRAM

The course consists of 4 modules.

Module I: Design & Communication

The Module provides an overview of how branding, marketing, and communication are essential tools for achieving design and commercial objectives within an architecture studio.

Goals

  • Interpreting the architectural professional studio as a business.
  • Understanding the techniques of branding, marketing, and communication within an architectural studio.
  • Effective communication strategy models and the use of language and imagery for business purposes;
  • Achieving the objectives of the design while aligning them with commercial goals;

 Module I: Marketing 

 Do you sell a DESIGN PRODUCT or a DESIGN SERVICE?

The Module is designed to project professionals into the market arena to understand marketing strategies and tools applied in the management of architectural studios.

Goals

  • Understanding the principles of marketing and aligning the studio around the desires of clients.
  • Providing a customer-oriented philosophy and studio model.
  • Using SMART marketing tools to develop professional objectives.
  • Identifying and quantifying national and international market opportunities in the identified sector.

Module III: Project Management

The module provides a professional perspective of the Architect as a Project Manager. A professional role to approach projects in a structured manner and ensure the success of initiatives.

Goals

  • Training to support the professional certification exam for Project Manager.
  • The new code of public contracts and references to project management and the role of project manager (RUP and DEC).
  • Understanding the contents of the project management process group: Project Initiation & Project Planning; Project Execution & Project Control; Project Closure; Integration, Scope, Stakeholders; Time, Cost, Resources, Quality, Risks, Communication, Procurement.

 Module IV: Business Economics

The module is aimed at those who aim to understand the central aspects concerning economic activity and the subjects that carry it out, leadership and management techniques, and the functions within a company.

Goals

  • Understanding the central aspects of managing a professional studio as a company.
  • Examining the economic, financial, and managerial aspects of the studio-company as processes aimed at achieving objectives through planning, organization, coordination, direction, and control.
  • Developing an awareness of the main economic, social, and environmental responsibilities of a professional.
